A benefit’s only a benefit if it’s something you want. So we operate a flexible programme called myChoice for all eligible UK employees. It provides a broad framework for combining your pay and benefits into an arrangement that offers incredible flexibility. The value of your employment package, including your salary and benefits, is managed and communicated using a single monetary value called Flexible Pay.

myChoice allows you the freedom to use your Flexible Pay to choose benefits by:
- Enabling you to select from a wide range of benefits on competitive terms
- Delivering Income Tax and NIC savings on many of the benefits
You can use as much or as little of your Flexible Pay to select benefits as you wish, subject to a minimum level of core benefits. Alternatively you can opt to take your Flexible Pay as cash, again whilst maintaining some vital financial protection benefits at a minimum level. Your Flexible Pay is reduced by an amount equal to the cost of providing your selected benefits. You can choose from a wide range of benefits in myChoice, covering your financial protection, health and well-being and lifestyle.
Financial Protection
Critical Illness Insurance - For You
Subject to acceptance of the claim by the insurer you receive a cash sum if you’re diagnosed as suffering from a specified critical illness/condition.
Critical Illness Insurance - For Your Partner
Subject to acceptance of the claim by the insurer you receive a cash sum if your Partner is diagnosed as suffering from a specified critical illness/condition.
EDS Investment Plan - Pension
You can choose from a range of contribution rates and we’ll make a matching contribution on your behalf.
Income Protection - For You (core benefit)
Subject to acceptance of the claim by the insurer you receive a regular income should you need to take more than six months off work because you’re ill, injured or disabled.
Life Assurance - For You (core benefit)
This provides a lump sum if you die while in service, payable at the discretion of the Trustee of the life assurance scheme.
Life Assurance - For Your Partner
This provides a lump sum to chosen beneficiaries if your Partner should die.
Personal Accident Insurance - For You
Subject to acceptance of the claim by the insurer a lump-sum is paid should you die or suffer permanent total or partial disablement due to an accident.
Personal Accident Insurance - For Your Partner
Subject to acceptance of the claim by the insurer you receive a lump-sum payment should your Partner die or they receive a payment if they suffer permanent total or partial disablement due to an accident.
Personal Accident Insurance - For Your Children
Subject to acceptance of the claim by the insurer you receive a lump-sum payment should any of your Children (up to a maximum of six) die or suffer permanent total or partial disablement due to an accident.
Health and Well-being
Dental Plan
This reimburses you part of the cost of any necessary dental treatment.
Health Cash Plan
This gives you money, up to maximum limits, towards the costs of routine healthcare.
Health Screening - For You (core benefit)
This provides an in-depth profile of your health and well-being through an extensive questionnaire, up to 37 medical tests and a consultation with a BUPA Doctor.
Health Screening - For Your Partner
This provides an in-depth profile of your Partner’s health and well-being through an extensive questionnaire, up to 37 medical tests and a consultation with a BUPA Doctor.
Private Medical Plan
- Private medical cover for you and your family members at attractively discounted rates
- Faster and more flexible medical care, allowing you to get better quickly
- Cover for acute conditions. The Comprehensive Plan is the one to select for expensive chemotherapy drugs

This gives you the flexibility and convenience to tailor your Annual Leave to meet your needs (within certain limits).

You can pay for most types of childcare through a personalised account provided your carer is either Registered or Approved (having completed the Childcare Approval Scheme or being included on the Voluntary Ofsted Register, if they are an Approved Home Childcarer).
